Frequently Asked Questions

What type of music do you play?

We have a very large collection of music, and by liaising with the customer and “reading” the dance floor, we can ensure we play music appropriate for all your guests, whatever their age.

What about requests?

Requests are welcomed!  We take requests on the night, and you can also discuss your specific requirements in advance to ensure we play your favourite songs.

Will your lights dazzle the guests?

Not at all – we use sophisticated, controlled lighting to suit the occasion.

How loud is your music?

Good question!  This depends entirely on the event, and your requirements.  We understand that you will want music loud enough for people to dance, but not so loud your guests cannot talk to each other at the bar.

Do you use a smoke machine?

A smoke or haze machine used in moderation can enhance the overhead lighting, so where allowed by the venue and agreed by the customer we can use a smoke machine if required.

What will the DJ wear?

We always dress smartly and appropriately for the occasion

How much space do you need to set up, and how long does it take?

On average, setting up usually takes no more than 60 minutes, and a space of 4m x 2m is ideal.  If you require a larger or smaller disco, please contact us as we can usually accommodate your requirements.

Do you have backup equipment if something goes wrong?

Yes! We use two sources of music, including dual CD players – in the unlikely event of one going wrong, we will seamlessly switch to the other.

How much do you charge?

This depends on several factors including date, time, location and equipment required.  Please contact us for a quote.

What happens after we have booked you?

You will receive a written confirmation of the booking, and we will either speak on the phone, or meet in person, to discuss any additional requirements.

If we book you, will it actually be you who turns up?

Yes!  We do all of our own bookings – we do not pass on work or employ other DJ’s.  This is the only way we can be sure our high standards will be upheld.

Do you use illegally downloaded music or copied discs?

No! Illegal downloads or copied discs can often be of low quality - all of our music is original and legally purchased to ensure consistently high quality sound.

Are you insured and is your equipment safe?

Yes and yes! For your peace of mind, we are covered for £10m Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and all of our equipment is regularly PAT tested. Please contact me if you would like to see PLI and PAT testing certificates. This is important as some venues - especially hotels and council owned buildings - insist that the disco has these certificates before they are allowed to set up!

We have had a cheaper quote from someone else...

We believe we provide excellent value for money, however like most things, you always get what you pay for! We only use professional sound and light equipment from leading manufacturers, always carry back-up equipment, maintain a huge collection of legal music, and have £10m public liability insurance cover - basically, we provide a competitive, professional service, but we do not cut corners!
